Here are some scriptures regarding God’s Ways of dealing with tyrannical rulers:

Section I

The LORD shall send the rod… out of Zion.

RULE in the midst of Your enemies! (Psalm 110:2)

Spurgeon’s Comments:

“Jesus … is still the King of kings. His rule is over even the most unwilling, so as to overrule their fiercest opposition to the advancement of his cause.”

“If the nations [USA?] will not have Christ for their Head, they shall find their political rulers to be powerless to protect them.”

(Editorial Comment: He will RULE in the midst of His enemies in the United States.)

Section II

“[T]he word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.’” (Ezek 29:1b-2)

Speak, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD:
“ Behold, I am against you,
O Pharaoh king of Egypt” (Ezek 29:3)

Comments:

Like God, we are to oppose cruel, wicked, arrogant rulers. In fact, we are called to speak against them (“prophesy against”).

Why? Because God says “I am against you”; He was speaking to Pharaoh, who was an arrogant, vicious and ungodly ruler; and because he was oppressing God’s people. Does this sound familiar?

Prayers:

· Lord, our rulers in Washington, DC are, in effect, your enemies! Please RULE in their midst, “break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” (Ps 2:1-3);

· Lord, SAVE us! Expose and Frustrate the evil regime in Washington, DC (Ps 35:4-8; 35:15, 17-20).
