ANNOUNCEMENT: “We Are Reengaged!”

Dear Brethren:

My thanks go out to so many of you who wrote me with love and regret at my announcement about the closing of The Capitol Hill Prayer Alert (CHPA). My decision to close involved both personnel and finances, not loss of interest or concern.

However, the many expressions of loss as well as much time in prayer have caused me to reexamine the future of the CHPA.

Therefore, as (hopefully) a Holy Spirit-inspired Watchman, I have decided to keep the CHPA alive, but in a more affordable fashion. I will maintain the Web site (www.prayeralert.org) and post regular Biblical Commentaries on it. Also Watchmen Warning excerpts from relevant columns and articles will be posted with short observations.

Most importantly, we will post PRAYERS for these matters, because ONLY PRAYER can bring about the changes for which we all yearn.

So, to summarize:

  • 1. There will be no more emails or faxes after this announcement;
  • 2. Please bookmark our site (www.prayeralert.org) and consult it regularly;
  • 3. Please PRAY (as we suggest or as led by the Holy Spirit);
  • 4. Please know how IMPORTANT you are to the Lord and to CHPA.

PS from Gretchen Trump - The past twelve years have been a wonderful, exciting “journey” for me. I started working for CHPA in the Spring of 1994 having no clue as to where and what was before me (elections, National Solemn Assembly, legislation, cultural events, Prayer Gathering, etc.).

I had been an intercessor for many years, but did not understand fully what “standing in the gap” entailed. While I “know” more now about God's call for intercession (thanks largely to Harry Valentine and The Capitol Hill Prayer Alert), I will never grasp completely the concept this side of heaven.

Now the Lord has beckoned me to a new phase in my “journey.” I will miss The Capitol Hill Prayer Alert and Harry. Yet, I am sure that God has great plans still for all of us. My husband's business and my grandchildren seem to need me more than Harry and CHPA do, and I know PAM HOUTZ is an able replacement for me. I just wish you could know how much your prayers have meant to me. DON'T STOP PRAYING!
