SHARIA LAW V. CHRISTIANITY IN AFGHANISTAN

Dear Christian Brethren:

Yesterday we sent you Tony Perkin’s Washington Update regarding our brother Abdul Rahman in Afghanistan. Today we are recommending Michelle Malkin’s recent column on the same subject (http://townhall.com/opinion/columns/michellemalkin/2006/03/22/190774.html).

We are in total agreement with both of them. However, we understand President Bush’s reluctance to bring up Abdul Rahman’s blight since it demonstrates in living color that these wars may turn out to have been a waste of time, money and lives.

Some may ask: “How can you say that, Harry?” It is easy. If all we have accomplished is the reinstallation of Islamic law, how are these Afghanis and Iraqis any better off than they were before? Islamic or Sharia law is intolerant, brutal and oppressive and seems to be the breeding ground for jihad and terrorism.

So, what can WE do about this? Once again we must cry out to God for both Abdul Rahman and President Bush:

  • For Abdul Rahman, that his life would be spared and that he will be released from prison;
  • For President Bush, that he would have overriding compassion and concern, and will work overtly or behind the scenes for Rahman’s release.

In closing, I implore you to read Michelle Malkin’s column and to pray for these brothers accordingly.
