“No Vision”
Dear Brethren & Others:
First, I want to thank you for helping me with email addresses of friends who will appreciate getting our materials. We have no money budgeted for advertising so we are dependent on the Lord and you to help us “enlarge our borders.” Please keep sending us names.
Also, my deep thanks for your financial help. Could some of you who have not helped recently possible make a donation now?
A recent article by Paul Weyrich is worrisome and a cause for PRAYER (you must read http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2006/2/15/134037.shtml). I have noticed a loss of purpose and “message” within the Republican ranks. Much of the House leadership seems preoccupied with holding onto POWER! They had a message (The Contract With America) in 1994 that swept them into the majority. Since then the conservative fire seems to have melted.
As the Weyrich article implies, if the Republicans lose the House because conservatives and Christians become evermore disillusioned and “stay home” this fall, the leftists could regain the majority in both the House and the Senate.
If that happens, President Bush will be IMPEACHED by the House and, unlike Bill Clinton, CONVICTED by the Senate.
Please PRAY with urgency that the Republicans will reawaken with a message that is compelling to conservatives and Christians (for example, the Marriage Amendment; lowering taxes; immigration; Iraq and Iran; Homeland Security, in general; the recent Port deal; abortion and homosexual matters; etc.) Incidentally, President Bush’s adamant decision regarding the Port issue (see http://www.townhall.com/opinion/columns/frankjgaffneyjr/2006/02/20/187188.html) can only further deflate conservative/Christian enthusiasm.
So, IMPEACHMENT could be a distinct possibility after Election Day 2006 if the Republicans “message” fades away and voters “stay home” in apathy, disgust or rebellion.
So, since most of you are ardent supporters of a conservative/Christian agenda, please start PRAYING! Momentum is moving in the other direction and it must be stopped and good, Godly movement reestablished.
