Dear Brethren & Others:
“…thou shall put away the guilt of innocent blood…” (Dt 19:13b).
This past week the “issue” of ABORTION has come front and center in D.C. From God’s perspective ABORTION is not an “issue” like taxes, social security, highways, etc. are issues. Aside from Idolatry, ABORTION (i.e., the shedding of innocent blood) is perhaps the most crucial spiritual matter confronting America today (see Gen 4:10; 9:4-6; Lev 17:14; 18:24-30; Dt 19:10; Ps 106:37-40; Ho 1:4; 4:3; 6:8; Rev 6:10; 22:15, etc).
Two ABORTION-related cases were brought before the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday. One involved eliminating a parental-notification restriction; the other tried (for the third time) to make peaceful protests before ABORTION “mills” illegal.
At the same time, a 1985 Samuel Alito memo was released, that seems to have advocated a strategy by which the Reagan administration could eventually overturn Roe v. Wade. This quite possibly dooms Alito’s candidacy for the Supreme Court bench.
What do the above matters say about our country? What about the Lord? Is there even a God? If so, does He care about this stuff? Isn’t He just “pure love”? Isn’t all this “judgment” talk just the invention of puritanical “meanies” and “haters” who want to spoil everyone’s “fun”? Etc., etc., etc.
What does God’s Word tell us? In the Scriptures cited above, we learn that peoples and nations allowing “the shedding of innocent blood” (which ABORTION certainly is) will be severely punished by God. He even promises to “destroy” them. Also, even those who simply help the process along will be severely punished, even “cut off” by God.
Brethren, our land is defiled and doomed unless this holocaust is stopped and the nation’s heart is changed. Right now the majority of Americans demand the “right” to ABORTION. Both political parties kowtow to this pressure; the judicial system is (with exceptions) dedicated to enforcing these laws. What can we do?
1. WAKE UP! Get engaged! (See Ps 94:16);
2. WORK for pro-life causes;
3. PRAY! Continually! Because, unless God is ardently petitioned by His people and mercifully responds, we are doomed! We must REPENT!
Brethren, this is not some “doom and gloom”, “fire and brimstone” perspective. From what is clearly spoken in God’s Word, the continuation of this ABOMINATION (God’s word, not mine) will result in the end of America as we know and love it.
Please, please make this a high priority in your prayers!
