Dear Brethren and Others:

God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; The Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves Wrath for His enemies; The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way in the WHIRLWIND and in the STORM, and the clouds are the dust of His feet But with an overflowing FLOOD He will make an utter end of its place, and darkness will pursue His enemies (Nahum 1:2-3, 8; emphasis mine).

Last week we urged you to understand what God is saying in the wake of Katrina: REPENT (www.prayeralert.org/harry/harry-050901.html). We cited reasons why we need to REPENT as individuals, families, the Church and the Nation. As Watchmen we also warned that devastations like Katrina, the tsunami and 9/11 are like "warning shots" from God which we also see modeled Biblically in the Book of Judges. We also see Biblically that God repeatedly warns us to turn from our truly "Wicked Ways" and back to Him, His Laws and Rules, and His Ways. When we harden our hearts and refuse, He often brings a "Final Judgment."

Many of you do not believe this for a variety of reasons:

• "My God is a loving God; He would never do that;"
• "I don't believe in God;"
• "Phenomena like tsunamis and hurricanes are 'freaks of nature' and God has nothing to do with them;"
• "It's all George Bush's fault."

Can we meditate on the Scriptures above where we see how God feels about unrepented wickedness and what He eventually does about it? Does this remind you of the tsunami and, more recently, Katrina?

Here we come to understand aspects of God about which the average modern North American and European Church and the secular humanists are oblivious. In Wrath He takes vengeance on His adversaries; He is "great in power" and will not "wink" forever at the evil being perpetrated; and He often acts through WHIRLWINDS, STORMS and overwhelming FLOODS. At times this results in the destruction of entire civilizations (see Greece, Rome, the Jewish Nation, Carthage, the Incas and the Aztecs), the decimation of others (Germany, Japan) and the humiliation of formerly great empires (Great Britain and France, for example).

So, to hope and believe that we in North America will be forever exempt is not only unbiblical, it is very foolish! Readers, please do not ignore the Scripture cited above or the horrific examples of God's very recent warnings. We will not escape God's ultimate JUSTICE much longer. His warnings, literally like waves in an angry sea, are coming stronger and stronger as well as more often.

"What can we do?" you may ask. Jesus gave us the answer:

" ...but unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3).

As a Church and Nation we must fall down before God, REPENT for our abominations and beg for MERCY (Hab 3:2). Is it too late? I pray not:

"Holy Lord, forgive us of our many sins against You and You alone. In Your Wrath, we beg that You remember Mercy. Teach us Your Ways and allow us to RETURN TO YOU! For Your Name's Sake and Your Glory, we pray! AMEN."
