Dear Praying Believing Christians & Others:
The outpouring of hatred for Christianity and for followers of Jesus in every important institution of power in our country is breathtaking. Even James Dobson's Focus on the Family has been called the "anti-Christ" by U.S. Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO). Can you imagine that? National Review's Stanley Kurtz calls it "a systematic campaign of hatred directed at traditional Christians the most extreme political rhetoric of our day[which] systematically identifies conservative Christianity with fascism." Ultra-liberal-leftist-New York Times' commentator Frank Rich compares conservative Christians to "George Wallace segregationists and lynch mobs" (interestingly, at the end of his life Gov. Wallace converted, repented and apologized pray that Rich will be so blessed.) The very secular leftist National Council of Churches says, "This may be the darkest time in our history." They and their fellow God-haters at the People for the (so-called) American Way are ever-so-fearful that a conspiracy of Biblical Christians is feverishly trying to establish a "theocracy" which, in their befuddled minds, will be like the Taliban. Rush Limbaugh, as so often, hits the nail on the head. He says "the religious left hates and despises the God of Christianity because God has moral absolutes; God has right and wrong the left wants to define that for themselves and they don't want to be judged." So, what do we as Biblical Christians make of all this? It is puzzling and sad, because, as A.W. Tozer said, "Jesus is the kindest man ever to walk the face of the Earth; there is no end of God's Goodness, irresistible Love, Mercy and Loving kindness. He wants to heal our wounds and deliver us from our enemies; to be our nurse, caretaker and shepherd, if only we will surrender to Him and be obedient." Doesn't it disturb you that so many "elite" people hate God, His ever-so-sensible Laws, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit? What can we do about it? Here are some suggestions:
The Lord in His Kindness, Justice and Providence will deal
with His and our enemies in His own time and way (Ps 110:1-2).
In some majestic way He will get the Glory He deserves, and Righteousness
and Justice will prevail! Hallelujah! Your hopeful Watchman in DC, Harry Valentine Harry Valentine CHPA Founder/President |
