"Let everyone who is Godly pray to you while you may be found"  (Psalm 32:6)

Prayer Will Help Decide 2000 Election!

I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting. Then Gabriel [the angel appeared and said] "As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given" (Dan 9:3, 19-23 abridged).

"I, Daniel ate no choice food...until the three weeks were over... [An angel appeared and said], "Since the first day that you set your mind to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come... But [demonic powers] resisted me twenty-one days." (Dan 10:2-14).

Joshuafought with Amalek. When Moses held up his handIsrael prevailedwhen he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands became heavy; soAaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So Joshua defeated Amalek (Ex 17:10-13).

Following the Democratic National Convention, Gov. George W. Bush's wide lead over Vice President Al Gore quickly evaporated. Later polls showed Gore leading Bush, at times by double digits. A recent study of likely Electoral College votes now shows Bush with 121 solid votes and another 89 probable votes while Gore has only 52 solid votes but 161 probable votes, leaving 115 ballots as a toss-up between the two candidates (Rasmussen polls). Media "talking-heads" spin their favorite candidate,s numbers daily scarcely veiling their biases. But virtually all serious, in-the-know politicos, pollsters and pundits call this election "too close to call."

  • Evangelical Christian voters who voted for Bill Clinton in 1992 (37%) and 1996 (38%) gave him the margins to win. These same voters will decide this race! Will they vote for Gore?
  • Will politically alert Christians urgently exhort their family members, friends and acquaintances to vote and to vote for God-fearing candidates?
  • Will pastors adequately exhort their people to labor & pray for Godly candidates, warning them that faithfulness or unfaithfulness now will evoke God's BLESSING or JUDGMENT?
  • Will pastors acquire and distribute "Christian Voter's guides," such as those produced by the Christian Coalition, to make sure their people are educated about the candidates and issues?
  • Will Christian parents labor and pray over this election, modeling faithfulness for their children, and so train them to fulfil their Christian civic duty in their generation?
  • Will Christians devote themselves to extraordinary prayer now, knowing that the very survival of the nation depends upon their faithfully doing so?
  • Will Christians, who under God are able to do so, turn the tide of this election?

The narrowing presidential race has motivated homosexuals, feminists and other radical groups to redouble their election efforts. But the election will be won on our knees. If we do our part, there could be a LANDSLIDE election of righteous and God-fearing candidates in November. If we do not, America will enter an unthinkably dark night of the soul. We appeal to the American Church to spend time in EXTRAORDINARY PRAYER & FASTING between now and Election Day.

Lord Teach Us To Pray:

  • Heavenly Father, AWAKEN your people! May an army of FAITH-FILLED Christians REPENT, PRAY, FAST, & LABOR now to elect a God-fearing president & other leaders. May our prayers work with YOU TO BLESS the outcome of these Elections. In Jesus, Name, Amen (Ex 18:21; Dt 17:15; 2 Chr 7:14; Ps 75:6-10; 149:4-9; Is 58:6; Dan 9:all; Lk 1:49-53; Jn 10:10-13; Acts 20:26-31).
