"Let everyone who is Godly pray to you while you may be found" (Psalm 32:6)
On Monday, September 11, Dr. Laura Schlessinger debuted her new nationally syndicated television talk show despite extensive homosexual protests.
Dr. Laura, as her radio fans have come to know her, is an outspoken advocate of the traditional family. An Orthodox Jew, she bluntly defends stay-at-home moms and is quick to criticize feminists and abortion. But her stance against the homosexual lifestyle has caused the greatest amount of protest.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), as well as a Web-based group, www.stopdrlaura.com, have been campaigning for months to prevent the Dr. Laura show from airing. The two groups have aimed their attacks at two groups: the showís advertisers and the individual television stations that committed to air the program.
The pressure has caused more than 25 corporations to withdraw advertising from either Schlessingerís radio or television program. Those corporations include: Proctor & Gamble, The Kroger Co., United Airlines, Gateway Inc., Kraft Foods, Sears, Roebuck & Co., and Priceline.com.
As many as 200 homosexual activists shouted Shame, Shame, Shame outside Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on Monday while other protest demonstrations were held at television stations across the nation.
The show went on without a hitch.
