Bill Goes to Congress
for a Final Vote
I have set before you life
and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you
and your children may live (Dt 30:19).
The long sought-after Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act (PBABA),
sponsored by Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH) and Sen. Rick Santorum
(R-PA), has been reconciled by the Senate-House Conference Committee,
reported to both Houses of Congress and will face a final vote
in both houses soon.
- Sen. Tom Harkin's amendment expressing support for Roe
v. Wade was stricken from the bill in Conference by a party-line
- The House may pass the final bill as early as tomorrow, Thursday,
October 2. The Democrat opposition will likely delay a vote in
the Senate, at least until Oct. 13, when Congress will return
from a 10-day recess.
- A filibuster by pro-abort Democrats is possible. PBABA passed
the Senate by a vote of 63 to 33 with 4 pro-abort Democrats not
voting. Forty-one votes are needed to sustain a filibuster.
- PBABA, first introduced in 1995, has twice passed Congress.
The Senate failed to override Presidential vetoes by President
Bill Clinton. President Bush is eager to sign the bill.
- ·Should PBABA pass, pro-aborts vow immediately to
challenge it in the federal courts. They contend it lacks a "health
exception" and, therefore, is no different from the Nebraska
ban declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2000.
The PBABA will be the first federal restriction on an act
of abortion since its practice was declared a constitutional
right 30 years ago. Pro-aborts rightly see this as major step
toward overturning Roe v. Wade. If God's people repent
and pray we will see an end to federally mandated legal abortion
Please Join Us in Unceasing Prayer:

Ban Act quickly pass both Houses of Congress. STOP any possible
filibuster! (Ps 98:1; 1 Cor 15:57-58)

- Grant America REVIVAL & REFORMATION,
without which our nation is doomed. In Jesus, Name, Amen (Ps
