"ROAD MAP" TO "PEACE:" Part #1
Bush Under Pressure to Issue Israel Ultimatum!

"I will enter into judgment against them concerning My inheritance, My people Israel, for they scattered My people among the nations and divided up My land (Joel 3:1-2)."

"My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions... saying, 'Peace,' when there is no peace...(Eze 13:8-13:17)."

Long before the Iraq war began, President George W. Bush pledged his commitment to a "Road Map" for so-called "peace" in the Middle East, a plan fashioned by the U.S., the E.U., the U.N. and Russia. Tremendous pressure is being placed upon our President to force Israel to implement the plan speedily.

-Israeli officials are in Washington seeking to modify the "Road Map" with some 15 amendments, which pertain to Israeli security. The U.N. and others want to see the plan implemented without any adjustments.

-The "Road Map" envisions a multi-stage process that would put provisional state borders in place by the end of this year, becoming permanent in 2005. Israel would be required to surrender to the Palestinians all territory captured during the 1967 Six-Day War; to evacuate Jewish settlements in Judea, Samaria and Gaza; to freeze construction of settlements to house a quarter million Jews; to help fund the Palestinian Authority (PA) and to eliminate restrictions on Arab travel put in place because of terrorist threats. Jerusalem would be divided, again.

-A majority of the recently elected Israeli parliament oppose the creation of any Palestinian state.

-The newly elected Palestinian Prime Minister (appointed by Arafat), Abu Mazen, could announce the makeup of his new government any day. When he does, Israel expects the U.S. will make public the details of the "Road Map."

-Israel insists that the PA must disarm and disband all Palestinian terrorist groups before any new steps are implemented. They say militant factions must embrace reforms and end the Intifada, the suicide bombings and all other violence against Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon supports the concept of a demilitarized Palestinian State, but only if Israel retains control if its borders and airspace.

Will President Bush now take a hard line against Israel, giving in to the pressure from world leaders? Or will he stand by Israel and the God of the Bible? God has repeatedly guaranteed the Jewish people their right to the land of Israel - by covenant oath. Praying Christians must stand with God and the Bible in this important matter!
