"Let everyone who is Godly pray to you while you may be found"  (Psalm 32:6)

Only Prayer Will Prevent Apocalypse*

The princes of Issachar were with Deborah... [Yet] among the divisions of Reuben there were great resolves of heart... Why did you sit among the sheepfolds? ... Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan... Why did Dan remain on ships? Asher... at the seashore... [While] Zebulun... jeopardized their lives... Naphtali also, on the heights of the battlefield... 'Curse Meroz'... they did not come to the help... (Jdg 5:9-27).

With 200,000 U.S. and British troops outside Iraq, war will soon begin. Diplomats, politicians, and people everywhere, including Christians, are debating both President George Bush's leadership and the morality of this war.

--Americans are not warmongers. Our nation remained neutral following Hitler's 1939 invasion of Poland until 1941. By then Hitler had occupied or annexed most of Europe, invaded Russia and North Africa, and the Nazi Holocaust of 6 million+ Jews was well underway.

--We learned from that war and others that it can be immoral not to take military action - to hesitate, vacillate, and be passive against evil (Ps 97:10; Rom 13:4b; 1 Jn 3:8).

--"Bracing for the Apocalypse" by Columnist Charles Krauthammer writes of our crisis, "We are now paying the wages of the 1990s, our holiday from history. [During the Clinton Administration] every major challenge to America was deferred"
(see http://www.townhall.com/columnists/charleskrauthammer/ck20030213.shtml).

--Iraq: "Saddam [defied] the world and [built] his arsenal, even as the United States acquiesced to the progressive weakening of U.N. sanctions and then [Iraq's] expulsion of all weapons inspectors."

Krauthammer summates, "We now recognize the central problem of the 21st century: the conjunction of terrorism, rogue states and weapons of mass destruction... We are in a race against time... Before our eyes, in a flash, politics has gone cosmic. The question before us is very large and very simple: Can - and will - the civilized part of humanity disarm the barbarians who would use the ultimate knowledge for the ultimate destruction? Within months, we will have a good idea whether the answer is yes or no."

Amen (Dt 32:9; Josh 1:7-8; Jdg 5:all; 2 Kg 22:11-13; 2 Chr 7:14;Neh 4:14; Ps 3:all; 20:all; 75:1-10; 127:1b; Pr 28:4; 29:2; Is 60:1).
