"Let everyone who is Godly pray to you while you may be found"  (Psalm 32:6)

Reaction from Christian Groups Taken to Heart

The Deputy Director of President George Bush's White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives announced today that the President's signature initiative will be delayed and may be radically revised. (See www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A55217-2001Mar11.html).

In addition to the anti-Christian groups who oppose every godly initiative, a growing number of Christian leaders have spoken out publicly against aspects of the plan. Among them have been Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Richard Land, and Christian Journalist Marvin Olasky, an advisor to Bush during his election campaign and one of the Faith-Based Initiatives early architects.

Bush's readiness to heed his critics, in this case, demonstrates wisdom and humility and shows that his ear is open to God's people. However the Bush plan and those who are helping reshape it desperately need our prayers to make sure the final plan does not do more harm than good.*

--Heavenly Father, Thank You for Giving President Bush GRACE to pull back from these Initiatives. Enable the Bush Administration, working with Christian leaders, to REMOVE EVERY DEFECT. May the final plan ADVANCE & NOT HINDER the ministry of the Gospel, CHECK & NOT ENTANGLE the secular state with Christian ministries, and LIMIT & NOT FUTHER the work of cults and false religions. In Jesus' Name. Amen! (Is 30:1-3; Jer 17:5-8; 2 Cor 6:4; Gal 1:8-9; 1 Tim 6:10)
