"Let
everyone who is Godly pray to you while you may be found"
(Psalm 32:6)
Praying for the Persecuted
Church
Then shall the King say unto them
on his right hand, "Come, ye blessed of my Father...for
I was in prison, and ye came unto me...Inasmuch as ye have done
it to the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me..."
(Mt 25:34-46).
Remember them that are in bonds,
as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being
yourselves also in the body (Heb 13:3).
Dear CHPA Foundation Friends:
We are sharing the following press release to encourage you to
continue to pray for the Persecuted Church in Sudan. Brad Phillips
and the Persecution Project Foundation (PPF) have been dedicated

President Bush Receives Burnt Bible From Brad Phillips President
Bush Pledges to Assist Persecuted in Sudan at White House Signing
Ceremony for Sudan Peace Act
Washington D.C., October 21, 2002 ---At a historic ceremony
at the White House yesterday, President George Bush signed into
law the Sudan Peace Act (SPA), a bill that condemns the National
Islamic Front regime for human rights violations including genocide,
slavery and religious persecution of Christians in a civil war
that has claimed more than 2.5 million lives and forcibly displaced
five million people from their homes.
"The (Sudan Peace Act) act demonstrates the clear resolve
of the United States to promote a lasting, just peace; human
rights; and freedom from persecution for the people of Sudan,"
President Bush said. "I am very grateful for what President
Bush has done today, and I have no doubt that it was the pressure
and prayers from thousands of friends and partners of Persecution
Project Foundation that made the difference in this fight,"
PPF President Brad Phillips said.
IT IS "SEPTEMBER 11" EVERY DAY FOR CHRISTIANS IN
SUDAN After the signing ceremony was completed in the presence
of Congressional leaders, Secretary Colin Powell, NSC Advisor
Condeleeza Rice, and members of the Friends of Sudan Coalition,
PPF President, Brad Phillips presented the remains of a burnt
Sudanese Bible to President George W. Bush. The Nuer Bible was
brought out from southern Sudan by Brad Phillips during a PPF
crisis relief mission in the oil-field region of western Upper
Nile.
"Mr. President thank you for what you have done today.
This Bible belonged to a Christian family that were among the
victims of genocide in southern Sudanís Upper Nile oil
region--they were killed and their home was burned to the ground
and this burnt Bible is all that remained. Please accept this
Bible and remember to pray for our persecuted brethren in Sudan,"
Phillips said. President Bush responded, "Thank you, I will
pray."
"It is very appropriate for President Bush to sign this
act today. Only last week on October 16, 5,000 Sudanese militants
took to the streets of Sudanís capital Khartoum, and denounced
America and burned an effigy of President Bush wrapped in an
Israeli and American flag. Since September 11, Christians in
Sudan have prayed that the USA would join them in their war against
terrorism. This is an answer to their prayers," Phillips
added.
