Despite Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's (D-SD) determination to hold off any Senate Debate on human cloning until February or March, pro-life Republicans have found a way to bring an anti-cloning amendment to the floor for a vote early this evening. The vote will take place just 24 hours before members of the House and Senate conduct a joint, closed-door prayer meeting in the Capitol Rotunda.

Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Senate Republican Leader Trent Lott (R-MS), using parliamentary procedure, are attempting to amend a railroad pension bill favored by Democrats. They want to include both the Republican-favored Omnibus Energy Bill and a six-month ban on human cloning.

The amendment is patterned after H.R. 2505, the Weldon-Stupak Cloning Ban, passed in July.

Certain liberal Senators are also expected to offer their own pro-cloning amendments.

Every day that America ignores God's law and allows the cloning of human beings, with little outcry from the American people, especially Christians, is a day of mounting Divine judgment. If our Senators join the Members of the House for a Solemn Assembly-like prayer meeting tomorrow evening, on the heels of rejecting a temporary cloning ban tonight, will Almighty God hear their prayers of repentance tomorrow? Or will they be a stench in His nostrils? (Amos 5:21)

Father, GRANT FAVOR to Senators Brownback and Lott. INTERVENE! Cause our Senate to approve a temporary cloning ban tonight and to pass a permanent ban before it expires. Awaken Your people to rise & resist all cloning of human beings (Gen 11:3-9; Dt 29:29; 30:19-20; Ps 1:all; 25:4-5; Pr 2:6-7; Is 41:13; 50:7a; Rom 8:27; 12:1-3; Phil 2:13; Jas 4:6-10).

May our Congressmen offer genuine prayers of repentance as they gather tomorrow night. Hear their prayers & EXTEND YOUR GREAT MERCY to America. Grant our sin-filled nation REPENTANCE and another GREAT AWAKENING. In Jesus' Name, AMEN! (2 Chr 7:14; Rom 9:15-16).
